Dr. Jack Tierney prepares students for all college admission tests and also provides students guidance in crafting their college admission essays. In 2005, Dr. Tierney retired from the San Diego County Office of Education. At the SDCOE, he served as a high school principal and on-loan assistant superintendent for instruction and superintendent in four San Diego County School Districts. As the SDCOE's manager of planning and assessment, he developed instructional activities he encouraged high school instructors to embed in their courses to prepare students for college admission tests. He continues to develop test preparation instructional activities and direct instruction to students wanting him to assist them to score well on college admission tests. Two students, whom Dr. Tierney has assisted, achieved a 2,380 total score on the new SAT, which was initiated in March 2005.
